CAMERA Introducing Dr Raghav Brahmadesam Venkataramaiyer

We are thrilled to welcome Dr Raghav Brahmadesam Venkataramaiyer to the CAMERA Team. Raghav will be joining us as a Research Associate working on an MRC project with CAMERA Associate Dr Vinay Namboodiri and CAMERA Co-Investigator Prof Darren Cosker. We asked Raghav to tell us a little bit about himself…

Q. Where have you come to CAMERA from?

A. I graduated this year with a Ph.D. from IIT Kanpur with my thesis titled “Geometric Understanding of Sketches”. A copy of the thesis may be found at arXiv:2204.06675

Q. What are your research interests?

A. My work lies in computer vision with applications mainly in Computer Graphics. I also have a peripheral interest in Human Computer Interaction.

Q. What are you going to be working on at CAMERA?

A. I will be working on a project at CAMERA with Darren Cosker and Vinay Namboodiri that aims to bring the advances of Facial Expression Synthesis to Psychologists in academia.

Q. What are you looking forward to the most about joining University of Bath?

A. The Uni is the perfect place to join hands with expertise and experience from diverse fields. I look forward to receiving the same and hope to contribute in whatever little way I can.
