CAMERA Amazing use of Augmented Reality to help support older people at home

Centre for Digital Entertainment EngD student Thomas Williams is researching how Augmented Reality can revolutionise the way older adults, especially those with dementia and memory problems, can be supported at home through a series of visual prompts.  Designing software that makes sense to an older adults who are at danger of being excluded from this type of support is key.

His paper describing this work has been given an honourable mention at this year’s Human Computer Interaction Conference (CHI2021)

Thomas’ research is conducted is with his supervisors, CAMERA Co-Investigator Dr Christof Lutteroth, University of Bath’s Dr Simon Jones and Dr Elies Dekoninck and in collaboration with partner company Designability.
