CAMERA CAMERA welcomes Anca Salagean

A warm welcome to Anca Salagean who has joined CAMERA as a PhD student supervised jointly by Prof Darren Cosker and Prof Danae Stanton Fraser.

We caught up with Anca to find out more about her research.

“I am a recent graduate from the Psychology department here at the University of Bath. My undergraduate dissertation investigated the induction of illusory body ownership over a virtual hand using Ultrahaptics haptic stimulation.

Further exploring my main research interest in embodiment in virtual reality, I am very much looking forward to starting my PhD, which is part of the Arts and Humanities Research Council’s (AHRC) Creative Industries Clusters Programme. Under the supervision of Prof Danae Stanton Fraser and Prof Darren Cosker, I will employ motion capture, videogrammetry and virtual reality technologies to investigate users’ embodiment in virtual reality.

I am very excited to have the opportunity to work in a highly dynamic and cross-disciplinary environment and to bridge the CAMERA lab team in the Computer Science department and the CREATE lab team in the Psychology department.”
