CAMERA Minerva’s Owls of Bath 2018

This has been hatching a while! CAMERA is delighted to support the Minerva’s Owls of Bath 2018.  This is a major public art sculpture trail featuring 100 individually decorated owl sculptures displayed across the World Heritage city of Bath and surrounding region from June – September 2018.

Sculptor Alan Dun, who created the King Bladud’s Pigs and Lions of Bath sculptures, made the owl maquette (small clay model) in his Limpley Stoke studio near Bath. The clay owl was then 3D-scanned by the University of Bath’s Advanced Design and Manufacture group (ADM) and CAMERA research centre to produce a high-resolution digital 3D model. A video of this process can be seen here.
