Beyond is the annual R&D conference for the creative industries. It explores the relationship between research, academia and business innovation and tackles the challenges impacting the future of the sector.
Beyond 2019 focuses on the intersection between Artificial Intelligence and creativity, with themes addressing the opportunities, challenges and controversies these innovations present. On 20-21 November, Prof Darren Cosker will be joined by panel members Nadira Azermai (Scriptbook), Prof Dave Bull (University of Bristol), and Chanuki Seresinhe (Alan Turing Institute/Popsa), at the Assembly Rooms in Edinburgh, leading a discussion ‘And the Award Goes to…’
Can AI alone really do something creative and award worthy or do the creative industries present the greatest challenge for AI? Having explored the idea of AI as an assistant, this session will consider if AI can really become the author and take a leading role in creativity, and where do they figure on the credits.
